- Google Tag Manager will allow you to update all your Facebook pixels, analytics, trackers and what-not without having to update your site code.
- Schedule social media posts with Buffer. Their free plan lets you schedule 10 posts.
- Canva can help you make high quality images for your blogs or social media posts. The free option has limited functions but works well enough to get you by.
- Google Trends tracks interest in topics over time.
- Struggling to come up with blog topic ideas? Hubspot has a tool that allows you to enter in keywords and then gives you potential article titles.

Stock Photos
- 70+ free stock photo sites. I need to update this more often.
- How to optimize images for your website.
- Reduce the size of your images without sacrificing quality. Don’t use a plugin that will add bloat to your website, just run your pictures through this tool before you upload.
Tools and Plugins
- Screaming Frog is a very good web site crawler. The free version has a URL limit, but it is still super useful.
- Need some filler text while you are designing your website? The Lorem Ipsum generator will spit out paragraphs of latin that doesn’t read well but looks kind of like legitimate text.
- Get recommendations on making your site faster and more secure with WebPageTest.org
- Similar Web will give you important metrics on your competitors like their traffic and social followings. The free version is limited to 5 results per item.
- Lighthouse is built into Chrome Dev Tools and will analyze your website for best practices. It will give you a list of things to make your site more secure, accessible and in-line with the industry.

Legal Issues
- If someone is stealing your content you can file a DMCA takedown notice. This article explains the process.

- Shopify has a free privacy policy generator. Be sure to check the box that opts out of signing up for Shopify!
SEO
- Set up your website with Bing Webmaster Tools. Will give you data to help diagnose issues and get better results in Bing searches.
- Google Analytics is free and is the industry standard for tracking all kinds of events, conversions and other things on your site.
- Set your site up with Google Search console. Similar to Bing Webmaster Tools.
- If you want to find new keywords to target, Answer the Public can give you loads of ideas.
- This tool will help you craft perfect titles and meta descriptions for Google search results pages.
- Moz has free keyword and link explorers that have limited uses per month. A free account is required for access.
Technical Issues
- Test the structured data on your pages. This tool was created by Google and can help diagnose issues with structured data.
- Test your Open Graph tags. Make sure you have set up OG tags correctly and they display how you want them to.
- Test your Twitter cards. This will allow you to see what links to your site from Twitter will look like. Don’t forget to read the documentation if you are new to Twitter cards.
- You can also test how Facebook will show your pages.
- If you ever hand-code your structured data or use JSON to pass data around your classes, you will likely need the help of this JSON validtor tool.
